    Character Study: Hansel

    October 17, 2014 by Berglund

Hansel, seems to be the strong and silent type, avoiding conversation with people.Such as he dsid with Ben, and with Mina at the Market. He is very protective of his sister being that growing up they had no parents and all they had was each other. It is debatable as to who is the better hunter Hansel or Gretel. But Hansel alway's has some sort of gun on him, that he won't let anyone touch, ben's lucky that he even got that shotgun from Hansel.Hansel dose seem to show very littel affection for anything other than Mina. But when they were shown in the desert he appeared to be over it.It is unclear if he will accept the fact that it won't just be Hansel and Gretel anymore. Now it will be Hansel,Gretel,Ben, and Edward.

In the Movie Hansel got his bu…

    1. The movie knows what it is. From its title to its gruesome opening title sequence and the gleefully audacious violence throughout, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters knows it is to be the ballsy cousin to the PG-13 rated fairy tale adventures like Snow White and the Huntsman. It's meant to be outrageous and for adults only, and it owns that.

    2. It revels in its R-rating. Not only is there a bit of bawdy nudity (which elicited excited "Ooos" from our audience) and well-placed f-bombs, but also there's plenty of violence that is giddy in its gore. This includes a sequence where a rampaging troll squishes a band of men into puddles of blood and brain matter with his bare hands and a well-placed stomp.

    3. The violence is inventive. There's been plenty of …

From the very beginning of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters the character of Gretel proves to be more than capable. When they are kids and captured by the witch, Hansel is locked in a cage forced to eat candy while Gretel is chained up and forced to do various chores. When the witch gets distracted as they are getting a fire ready to cook Hansel, Gretel picks her cuffs and gets Hansel loose so they can fight the witch together. Ultimately they work together to throw the witch in the fireplace.

Gretel did not just sit there and take her situation, she stood up to the witch and made a play for freedom. She was not sitting around waiting for someone to rescue her, she rescued herself.

As we are introduced to older Hansel and Gretel, we see a woma…

There is more to Hansel and Gretel story than meets the eye at the first glance. It is interesting to note, how frequently the theme of eating appears in the story. For young children, food and eating is a very important aspect of everyday life and often can be the object of many hidden fears. In Hansel and Gretel, the food theme is apparent throughout the story. The children are driven out of the house because the stepmother claims there isn’t enough food. Hansel & Gretel leave a trail of breadcrumbs, but it’s eaten by the birds. The witch’s house made out of gingerbread and the children taste a piece. The witch wants to eat the children, but decides to feed them first to fatten them up. Many common childhood fears are expressed in this t…

    Witch Hunters 2

December 9, 2013 by Serenity Blade

I have a feeling that in the next film, Gretel will learn how to use magic (she did picked up Muriel's wand and it glowed as she touched it). I hope no one gets recasted, I hate when that happens. I'm pretty sure either Ben or Edward's gonna die; I'm leaning towards Edward. Does anyone have an idea for the next film ?
