A funny thing happened on the way out of the gingerbread house: a genre mash-up! While audiences did not exactly warm up to the tale of the underrated "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," Paramount is hoping HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS will hit the action adventure target with better box office.
Once upon a time, films like this were designed to be critic proof. But not in this era of blogger snark, who are the biggest bunch of party poopers ever to be unleashed. (I think we should create a modern update, H&G: Blogger Slayers.) You do not see a high octane twist on a childhood fantasy for the deeper themes. No, you go for the popcorn experience of watching sexy talent like Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner ("The Hurt Locker") and Gemma Arterton ("Quantum of Solace") pick up a crossbow and impale some witches in 3D!
While you ponder the guilty pleasure aspects that await, put down the snark and watch Renner and Arterton reveal why they ventured into the dark forests of HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS in this interview now playing on The MediaJor Channel.
HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS 3D is now playing citywide.
